Gibraltar Artist Gregg Potter Nominated for an EMMY

Gregg PotterChicago rock duo Blackbox which is Damon Ranger, and Gregg Potter has been nominated for an EMMY from the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences. The nomination is in the performance category for Blackbox’s performance of the Cheap Trick classics “He’s a Whore,” and “Surrender.” Also nominated is Legendary Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen who joined the duo onstage for their performance which aired on CBS March 27th, 2009. 2009 has been an amazing year for Blackbox, along with the nomination they were handpicked to tour the midwest on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour on the Kevin Says Stage, handpicked to kick off Riot Fest, played two nights at Summerfest (the world’s largest out door music festival), and have shared the stage with Eagles of Death Metal, The White Tie Affair, Lupe Fiasco, Ratt, Butthole Surfers, Billy Squier, and more all in the past 10 months.

Blackbox just released their cd “Never Gonna Give” whichfeatures the song “D.U.D.E.” which was co-written with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Blackbox is honored to share this nomination with one of their hero’s and is looking forward to making the rest of this year just as amazing.
