Gibraltar artist Gregg Potter has won the Emmy from the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences. The ceremony took place November 7th at the Park West in Chicago.
Blackbox, which features Damon Ranger on vocals/guitar and Gregg Potter on drums, won the coveted award for their live performance of the classic “He’s a Whore” with Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen. They porformed at the Chicago Grammy Chapter event at Columbia College. CBS aired the video clip on March 27th, 2009.
Blackbox’s newest CD, Never Gonna Give, features the song “D.U.D.E.” which was co-written with Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl.
Blackbox is honored to share their Emmy win with Rick Nielsen and is looking forward to making the rest of 2009 just as amazing.
