Kevin Hastings‘s keyboard stand is a triple tier double-sided rack that holds his Korg M3 keyboard at a wild angle to fit his playing style. It was designed and built by Gibraltar’s rack team consisting of Mark Moralez and Brent Barnett.
This rack was designed and built by REO Speedwagon drummer Bryan Hitt and his tech. After seeing all of the new chrome clamps on the Geosphere rack at NAMM 2010 Brian and his team came up with a new design for his tour.
Brent from Gibraltar Hardware talks about the drum rack he designed for drummer Derek Kerswil. If you’re a touring drummer here are some good tips on how you could put your rack together, and why you should use a rack instead of stands. Derek did not want a huge rack, but did want the benefits of having the drums and cymbals in the same place each time he setup his drum kit without having to make small incremental adjustments.
Jagger Gonzles, the drummer of the band Opus Dai we hooked up with a drum rack in our Extreme Hardware Makeover, has written to us form the road to to lets us know his rack is holding up great, and that he is getting great comments about the kit from the other bands, the crew, and the fans.
