Part 3 of the Gibraltar Extreme Drum Hardware Makeover series. Jagger of Opus Dai sets up and tears down his rack for the first time after having it Gibraltarized by the Gibraltar Hardware experts. Performing at The Troubadour in Hollywood Jagger gave the drum kit a work out. Afterward he hung around to let us know how the new drum hardware performed.
Gibraltar artist Kevin Ricard’s recent performance at the White House will air tonight, February 11th on PBS. This was part of “In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement.” The program was the Black History Month event in Michelle Obama’s continuing music series at the White House. Hailing from Los Angeles, Street Drum Corps who is Bobby Alt, Adam Alt and Frank Zummo, have been called “Soo good” by the New York Post, declared “A rapturous band of misfit drummers” by the Los Angeles Weekly and were featured in Alternative Press Magazine’s “Most Anticipated Albums of 2010” issue. The band’s upcoming album produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, All American Rejects) boasts an eclectic mix of the band’s trademark drumming on found objects and fully realized rock/pop songs with Bobby Alt on vocals.
Street Drum Corps has performed on the Projekt Revolution, Vans Warped and Taste of Chaos Tours, and played with Linkin Park, The Used, Motley Crue, Chris Cornell and Matisyahu, among others.
Street Drum Corps and 30 Seconds To Mars are longtime friends and collaborators. Bobby, Adam and Frank performed alongside 30 Seconds To Mars on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien in December, Bobby and Adam made cameos in “The Ride” – a short film inspired by Thirty Seconds To Mars’ track “Kings & Queens,” Frank and Bobby are each on special edition covers of This Is War and 30 Seconds To Mars drummer Shannon Leto guests on Street Drum Corps’ album.
