Holy crap. This is a breath of fresh air. Have you seen the prices for keyboard stands... especially sturdy and expandable keyboard stands?

I started pricing what was shown... it's completely price competitive and delivers WAY more open-ended flexibility and stability than anything in any price (that is widely available, anyhow).

I'm totally sold. This was so obvious... how did I not see this before!

In fact... I need a new studio mixing desk to incorporate a mixer, a Kurzweil PC3k8 and a few rack items... and a couple levels of desk (one each for mouse, 2xLCDs, 2xStudio monitors). Time to crack open the catalog... I bet I can do better with Gibraltar than the expensive $2,000-$3,000 'studio furniture' options out there which all seem to always be missing something critical (plus: MDF vs steel? ha) and all are totally inflexible down the road.

GREAT POST!!! More like this please guys.

These don't seem to be generally available at most retailers yet. Is there a delay in manufacturing? We can we expect to see these widely available?

SICK. I cannot believe no one has commented on this genius and
fun idea. I LOVE the finish and been looking for that kind of color
and wood grain. Hmmmm. He's an employee there at Gretsch, so I bet
he got exactly what he wanted! Where can I get mine!?

As a semi-pro keyboard player who has long bemoaned the state of keyboard stands, this idea looks amazing! I agree with the first commenter that you do need a parts list of some kind...I don't mind figuring out the specs (height, distance, etc.) for myself, but I don't even know where to begin. A basic parts list of what you showed in the video would at least help me get started.

+1 for a great job and thinking of a creative way to use your hardware! I ran across this on YouTube, and will share it with others.

This clutch will fit on a 7mm diameter hi hat rod. Most brands should be 7mm.
